Guidelines for Requests

The Society provides funding for programs/projects that:

  • benefit a group of children with disabilities rather than an “individual” child
  • are one-time funding only, with no guaranteed ongoing commitment
  • promote independence in children with disabilities
  • improve children with disabilities’ quality of life

Funding requests are considered by the Society:

  • on an ad hoc basis to charitable non-profit organizations serving Hamilton-Wentworth, Haldimand and the City of Burlington (organizations must be registered with Revenue Canada and/or sponsored by a registered charity)
  • to support community-based programs for the benefit of children with disabilities (up to age 21)

If the request falls within the Society’s guidelines, please submit:

  • an outline of the project, its benefits and the costs
  • who will be involved in carrying out the project and their qualifications
  • what other organizations/agencies you have contacted and their commitment
  • number of individuals with disabilities benefitting by the project/program
  • a copy of the past year’s audited financial statement

Please complete one funding application per project/program.
